I am a frequent car rental and Avis customer. I also seldom if ever write reviews unless customer service was outstanding, as I figure someone may have just been having a bad day. Over the last 8 months my travel agency has been sending me to the Baton Rouge airport Avis location. While I would tell you that in general the experience was okay, I would also say that there is one member of their staff, a young man who works weekends, who has absolutely the worst customer service I have ever had in any rental car agency anywhere in the nation. I wish I could tell you it was a one-time thing but it wasnt. He obviously knows he has an issue too because he refused to provide me his name, and I wasn't yelling or anything like that...just mildly frustrated when the poor service / attitude occurred for the third time. One time i watched him go take a break when he had 3 people + me standing there waiting for assistance. There was nobody else at the desk either. Having owned companies and valuing customer service, it is my opinion he either should be let go or moved to a position where he does not represent the company at a desk level. I have to assume he is related to someone in management because I have seen the same behavior to other customers as I was waiting behind them for assistance. Management has to have heard this comment prior.
Best place to rent a car at the airport. Always good service. The only one that still takes debit cards if you need that option.
