If this rating were on cleanliness or the kindness of the staff I would be giving a 5 star review. However, this review is on honesty. I brought my car in for a routine oil change and tire rotation. The service advisor, Paul, stated that my brakes were in need of replacement along with new air filters. Even though there were no signs of me needing new brakes I agreed to replace them out of caution. Then he came back and told me that my rotors needed replacing as well and that the technician had attempted to shave and smooth out the grooves that were deep in the rotors, but they were now shaved down to a point that it was no longer safe to drive. Then he told me they could not get the after market parts that he originally quoted me on and he would have to use factory parts, which are obviously more expensive. Since they had to wait on the factory parts my vehicle would not be ready for two days. I told him that I am not convinced I needed new brakes and that I definitely should not need new rotors being that my brake pads had not worn down enough to cause damage to the rotors...never did I have had any grinding or squeaking or shaking at any point. I asked if they would provide me a loaner vehicle being that my car according to him is no longer safe to drive. He said no, but I could rent one for $35/day. I stated how unhappy I was and that I needed to call my husband. After my husband talks to him suddenly the rotor was salvageable and they were able to smooth out the “warping”. Only one of the rotors was shaved down, yet he told me I need to replace both! He originally said it was a deep groove but now says it was warping...which was it?!? And now it is safe to drive! I have owned Honda’s my whole life and I know that you don’t have damage to the rotors without hearing it. Grooves are caused from metal on metal...you hear that. Not to mention the break pads have a squeaker to you know when they are worn down. I have had a ‘95, ‘97, ‘07, and now 2014 accord. I love Hondas! But Paul is a very dishonest service advisor. The entire process took 5 hours! This is the first time I have ever felt mistreated at Honda and it happens to be the first time I use Honda of Covington...never again. I will be driving to Baton Rouge from here on out.
